The firm, run by entrepreneur Kevin Richards, is now an SSAIB approved and certified company in the installation, maintenance and servicing of CCTV and access control systems. SSAIB is a leading certification body, offering a wide range of schemes for providers of electronic security, fire systems and guarding services in the UK.
Based at Knowsley Industrial Park, Kirkby, the company has also implemented an IMS (Integrated Management System), including health and safety and environmental elements and now has its own monitoring station, this will be audited in July 2013 by the SSAIB.
Step Up Security, which boasts more than 200 clients across the North West, including many blue chip companies, provides a range of security services including CCTV surveillance systems; access control systems; alarm systems; manned guarding; mobile patrols; key holding; dog handling and hospital and public sector security.
Managing director Kevin Richards, who set up the company in 2002, said: “We have worked very hard to achieve these quality standards which are a testament to the professionalism and good management of our company. It also demonstrates our commitment to giving potential customers a real quality assured alternative to some of our more expensive national competitors.
“We are going from strength to strength but are also passionate about putting something back into the community so take corporate social responsibility very seriously.”
Kevin and his employees fund-raise for various charities including The Oliver King Foundation; Cancer Research; Lasers for Life; The Bootle under nine’s football club and New Brighton RUFC junior colt’s. The company also worked voluntarily with the Knowsley Foundation partners and Merseyside Fire and Rescue to help ensure the success of Kirkby’s Official Firework Display.
